Manifesting Me: with Poshmark
Poshmark is helping me to manifest my dreams. You are probably asking yourself, how does an online clothing resale app, help me to become my truest self?
Manifesting oneself is to bring your inner self into the 3d world. This includes our dreams and ideas about who we are and who we want to be: mentally, emotionally and physically. Like most women, I love to shop. However, I have realized that I am 10x more excited when I’m shopping and knowing that I’m getting a great freaking deal, so I “loooove” resale shops. I get excited digging through the racks for hidden gems and finds.
Finding a brand new Dooney & Bourke for $30 or an Oscar de la Renta slip for $8 is an exhilarating feeling! I always think, I could SO do this.
If you read my “About me: Meet Maria“, you know that I used to tell myself that I wanted to fulfill my desire to be an entrepreneur by owning a clothing resale/upcycling art/studio boutique when I retire. (I.e. I can’t right now, because I have to work for a living and don’t have the startup capital to do it right now, but I could do it when…….).
“The number of ways to live in one lifetime is limitless. So why limit yourself?” – Suzy Kassem
One day I realized the self-limitation that I was placing on myself. I don’t have to retire to see this dream come to fruition. I just had to change the details of my dream. I released the idea of a full time brick and mortar and started a part-time online business to bring in extra money. I may sleep a little less and get less TV time in; however, my sense of accomplishment, pride, creativity and bank account grow every day.
Moving into your next phase of being is not always easy, intuitive or a smooth transition. Sometimes we are forced into it, kicked out into the cold, burning inside with emotional upheaval, or at the very least forced to examine the stories that we have told ourselves about who we are, what we deserve, and how or when we receive our abundance and desires.
I believe in listening to my intuition, for it never steers me wrong. The more I listen to my inner wisdom, I find that hardship is lessened. It is immensely easier on our psyche and life when we consciously choose to self-reflect and make mindful decisions in tune with our circumstances rather than wait in unfulfilled purgatory or experiencing uncontrollable trials such as being fired, illness, accidents, death or economic collapse.
Hence….my starting an online clothing resale store and soon to come, an Etsy store.
If you have ever wanted to start an online resale store, read on to see why I chose Poshmark over others.
I was already familiar with EBay but very cynical about scammy buyers, postage and EBay penalty procedures. I loved the fact that I didn’t have to factor postage into my pricing because when you make a sale with Poshmark they email you the postage label that is added into the purchase price on the buyer’s end. I also like that Posh works like a social media platform which ensures that your merchandise is in the feed of potential buyers, not just passively sitting in the web waiting for someone to search for the exact thing that you are selling.
Some people resell on Poshmark as a full time job. This is not a full time job for me but the returns are significant. I have extra money to reinvest back into my own wardrobe, my resale business, my home design projects, vacation, as a stash into my rainy day funds, or whatever I want to attend to at that time.
What you will need is very basic:
- a source of merchandise for resale
- download the Poshmark app on a mobile device
